    Background & Career Path

Describe your role at Trilby Misso, and how you contribute to our success.

My role at Trilby Misso involves managing all aspects of technology within the firm. This covers everything from our physical hardware to our cloud services, with a special focus on cybersecurity. In the last two years, I’ve completely overhauled the way technology is utilised to match the increasing demands of our firm and moved Trilby Misso Lawyers to a serverless operation. My technological upgrades help the firm succeed by allowing our team to use IT effectively and productively.

Do you have any qualifications or certifications?

    • Data Centre Design and Best Practices Course – BICSI South Pacific
    • Introductory Certificate in Business Analysis – Charles Sturt University
    • Scrum Master I
    • Currently completing Diploma in Leadership through TAFE QLD

What skills do you believe are essential in your role, and how have you developed these over time?

In my role, I need to be able to solve problems, no matter how big or small they are.

I also need to have a clear idea of what the possible outcomes are and how to design a plan to achieve them from the current situation. I’ve found that my previous Business Analytics experience helps me a lot in designing plans.

    Challenges & Achievements

Can you share a significant challenge you’ve overcome in your role?

When I started working at Trilby Misso, I had to move the company’s tech architecture to a serverless “cloud-based” model. This was a big challenge that needed a lot of planning and support from the whole firm! It was crucial that this change didn’t hurt the team’s performance in any way. The change went well and made our operations more efficient.

What achievement in your position are you most proud of?

In general I am mostly proud of the fact that changes and technological upgrades are actually making a difference to make our operations run easier for both staff and clients!

    Personal Insights

What do you enjoy the most about life at Trilby Misso?

I enjoy the work flexibility between office and home, and the great camaraderie with the team.

Outside of your career, what are your passions or interests?

I enjoy spending time with my ever-growing family. I am constantly studying something every year from AWS to Azure, and am currently enrolled in a Management and strategy course to expand my knowledge. To unwind I love to watch whatever is on Netflix or play a video game!

What’s your favourite piece of fiction? This could be a book, movie, TV show, or something else.

The Expanse and 3-body problem books! But I think I love Sci-Fi in general – the new Dune films were amazing!

What is one thing about you, that people would be surprised to know?

I came 16th in my Queensland Cross Country race in 2006.
